Wild dolphins, but we know where to find them

Most dolphin tours in the Mediterranean are a lottery. This one isn't, and we'll tell you why.

Between Murter and Vrgada there's a working aquaculture facility, a fish farm. A pod of wild bottlenose dolphins has been feeding there reliably for years. They aren't trained, they aren't fed by us, and nobody is doing anything to keep them around. They're just wild dolphins who figured out a free meal. That's where we take you.

Sightings are very common in season. But these are wild animals. We can tell you where they feed, not when they'll show up. If a day is unusual and they don't appear, you've still had six hours on a speedboat in open Dalmatian water with a swim stop.

A few honest things about wild dolphin watching

  • These are wild bottlenose dolphins. Sightings are reliable but never guaranteed.
  • We don't feed them, chase them, or get in the water with them. We park at a respectful distance and watch.
  • We don't run captive dolphin experiences. None of those exist legally in Croatia.

The route

  1. 1 Šibenik riva Speedboat out toward the Murter and Vrgada area. About a 90-minute run.
  2. 2 Arrive at the dolphin area We slow down and start looking. The aquaculture facility draws the pod; we drift at a distance.
  3. 3 Dolphin watching However long the dolphins are around, that is how long we stay. Quiet engines, cameras out.
  4. 4 Swim stop Usually around Kaprije or Prvić, conditions permitting. Snorkel gear and paddleboards out.
  5. 5 Return to Šibenik Back at the riva by mid-afternoon.

Stops and order shift with wind and sea. Your skipper runs the best version of the day, not a fixed clock.

Frequently asked questions

Are dolphin sightings guaranteed?
No. They're very common: the dolphins reliably feed at an aquaculture facility between Murter and Vrgada, but they're wild animals. We can tell you where they feed, not when they'll show up.
Are the dolphins wild?
Yes. They're wild bottlenose dolphins who feed at an aquaculture facility on their own. We don't feed them, train them, or interact with them.
Can we swim with the dolphins?
No. We don't get in the water with them, and you shouldn't book a tour with anyone who says they will.
Is food included?
Cold drinks yes, food no. Bring snacks, the tour is six hours and the swim stop isn't near a restaurant.
Is this tour good for kids?
For older kids who handle boats, yes. For toddlers, probably not, it's six hours on a fast RIB in open water.
What happens in bad weather?
The dolphin route is more exposed than the Riviera. If the sea isn't safe, we reschedule or refund.
Are towels included?
No, bring your own.
